* This jacket was a project inspired by Canada's vast network of Northern arctic mines & the ways we, as individuals, see ourselves on the ever shrinking global stage. Setting aside the environmental degradation these behemoth pits wrought upon local communities & the natural world alike, I was instead more interested in arctic mines as a metaphor for seeking something that has value amongst a sea of land that, for all intented purposes, as none. A metaphor for the chaotic hunt for something rare and impossible to recreate. It's from this line of thinking that this jacket was materialized.
